Cities have inherently been organic entities. People's lives and work intertwined, seeping into the town, and layering history to create unique ecosystems in each locality.
The city, once called Edo, became known as Tokyo on July 17, 1868, during the fourth year of the Keio era. Throughout various upheavals such as the Meiji Restoration, World War II, and the period of rapid economic growth, it has repeatedly undergone dynamic renewal driven by the aspirations of its inhabitants as the capital of Japan.
However, in recent years, Tokyo is becoming inorganic. The city, once driven by the diverse wills of its people, is now being developed methodically based on rational conclusions devoid of personal intent.
It seems that people too are often moving as if they were inorganic.
Living in such a place as Tokyo, while facing the phenomenon that is "myself," I want to once again question the way of life as an organic being, as a human.
About Printing
For printing, I either use a convenience store copy machine and staple the prints at home, or I use the self-service copy machines at Kinko’s for printing and automatic stapling.
This method ensures that I can continue publishing regardless of my financial situation, even if I am overwhelmed by the market, become economically distressed, or lose my home due to unpaid rent.
Although the stock quantity is set to a number greater than one for convenience, I only print after receiving an order. Depending on the quantity, shipments may be done once a week, as Kinko’s offers cheaper printing rates on Fridays.
